THE BIGGER PICTURE
In January 2024, the Clarets penned a strategic partnership with Dundee that would see players moving in either direction on temporary loan deals. The Championship side have reportedly placed 19-year-old Mendes on the list of players who could be sent to the Scottish club before the summer transfer window closes on August 30.

Mendes’ time at Barcelona was relatively short. He signed with the Catalan giants' Under-19 team in 2023, following a successful trial that was facilitated by his father, Ronaldinho. However, his stay at the Blaugrana was shortlived as he signed a two-year deal with Burnley this summer and moved to England.
